Quick Answer
The RM Engineering GT4+ Front Splitter Kit is a chassis-supported aerodynamic system for the BMW F80 M3, F82 M4 and F83 M4 Convertible. It combines a carbon fiber front lip with a tunneled splitter, reinforced mounting structure and aluminum skid blocks for track-focused and high-performance street applications.

How the GT4+ Front Splitter System Works
Inspired by the BMW F82 M4 GT4 race car, the GT4+ system combines a carbon fiber front lip and airdam with a tunneled lower splitter and chassis-supported mounting structure.
GT4+ Carbon Front Lip and Airdam
The reinforced carbon fiber front lip creates a continuous transition between the factory front bumper and the tunneled lower splitter. When installed as part of the complete system, the lip and splitter form a two-piece front aerodynamic assembly.
GT4+ Tunneled Front Splitter
Molded tunnels are designed to manage airflow expansion beneath the splitter. An integrated channel also provides an exit path for air discharged from the factory lower oil cooler, supporting more controlled airflow through the front cooling area.
Chassis Support and Skid Protection
Chassis-mounted brackets and center support rods reinforce the splitter assembly rather than relying on the front bumper alone. Included aluminum side and center skid blocks help protect high-contact areas underneath from pavement, curbing, driveways and track surfaces.
Track-Proven Development
The GT4+ system was developed and tested on road-going BMW F8X vehicles equipped primarily with bolt-on modifications. Recorded testing was completed without extensive vehicle weight reduction and on 275/35R18 200TW tires.
Recorded F-Chassis Results
- WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca: Best recorded lap of 1:34.341
- Global Time Attack Finals at Buttonwillow CW13: Fourth place with a best recorded lap of 1:50.940
- Super Lap Battle 2025 at Circuit of the Americas: Fastest BMW in class
These results provide real-world development context rather than guaranteed performance outcomes. Actual performance depends on vehicle setup, ride height, suspension, tires, alignment, track conditions and driver input.
