The Ridgeline Motorsport BMW F82 M4 Shop Car V2 is more than a track build. It is a development platform used to test and refine the Ridgeline Motorsport GT4+ Aero Kit under real-world track and competition conditions.

Built around the F82 M4 chassis, the car combines the GT4+ Aero Kit with Nitron R3 suspension, SPL Parts suspension components, Paragon ENP brakes, BBS E88 motorsport wheels, and a driver-focused cockpit.

The car has competed in Gridlife and Global Time Attack, giving Ridgeline Motorsport the opportunity to evaluate the F8X platform and its components under conditions that cannot be replicated in a workshop alone.

The goal was never to build the most extreme F82 M4. It was to build, test, learn, and make it better.

Why the F82 M4 Shop Car V2 Exists

Developing a serious track aero system requires more than designing individual components to generate downforce. Front and rear aerodynamic load interact with ride height, suspension movement, tire grip, and chassis behavior as the car moves through a corner.

That interaction is difficult to evaluate through static testing alone.

The Shop Car V2 became an important part of the GT4+ Aero Program. Components are tested on the complete vehicle, evaluated on track, and refined based on how the car actually responds when pushed repeatedly.

GT4+ Aero Development on the F82 M4

The Shop Car V2 is built around the complete Ridgeline Motorsport GT4+ Aero Kit for BMW F80 M3 / F82 M4.

The system combines the GT4+ front lip, tunneled splitter, GT4-spec canards, and chassis-mounted rear wing into one aerodynamic package. On the development car, the focus is not simply how much downforce each component creates, but how the complete system behaves as speed and aerodynamic load increase.

The GT4+ system draws from the aerodynamic principles and design language of the BMW F82 M4 GT4 while extending the concept beyond traditional GT4 homologation limitations where additional performance is useful.

The AlpineX MP Side Skirt complements the aero package by completing the side profile of the F82 M4 and supporting airflow management along the chassis.

Suspension & Chassis Setup

Aerodynamic load only becomes useful when the chassis can consistently translate it into tire grip. The F82 Shop Car V2 uses Pit Garage-spec Nitron R3 coilovers together with a complete SPL Parts Kinematic Package.

The combination provides damping adjustability and suspension geometry control, allowing the chassis to be tuned around changing track conditions and aerodynamic loads. Ride height, damping, alignment, and suspension geometry all influence how consistently the aero platform works as the car is pushed harder.

Brakes, Wheels & Driver Interface

The chassis is supported by a Paragon ENP Brake Kit and Silver BBS E88 motorsport wheels. For a competition-focused F82 M4, braking consistency and wheel selection are part of the larger vehicle setup rather than isolated upgrades.

Inside, a pair of Recaro Pole Position seats with custom Green Pepita inserts provides driver support, while a JQ Werks GEN2 Clubsport Line Hub System paired with a Sparco steering wheel creates a purposeful competition-focused cockpit.

Tested in Gridlife & Global Time Attack

The F82 M4 Shop Car V2 has competed in Gridlife and Global Time Attack, putting the car and its components into genuine competitive environments.

Competition introduces variables that are difficult to reproduce during controlled testing: changing track conditions, tire behavior, temperatures, repeated high-load laps, and the pressure to extract performance from the complete vehicle.

Not every event produced the result we were looking for. But that is precisely what makes competition valuable as part of the development process.

Every session revealed something — whether related to aerodynamic balance, suspension behavior, braking performance, tire management, or overall vehicle setup. Those observations became data points for the next round of development.

GT4+ Aero: Proven in Competition

The F82 M4 Shop Car V2 is one of the platforms Ridgeline Motorsport uses to develop and refine the GT4+ Aero system. The broader GT4+ program has also been validated through competition across multiple BMW builds and track environments.

At WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, a GT4+ equipped BMW recorded a best lap of 1:34.341. At the Global Time Attack Finals at Buttonwillow CW13, the GT4+ program recorded a fourth-place finish with a best lap of 1:50.940.

At Super Lap Battle 2025 at Circuit of the Americas, a GT4+ equipped BMW was the fastest BMW in class, excluding two Toyota Supras. At Buttonwillow, the GT4+ program was also the fastest BMW in class, excluding three Toyota Supras.

These results represent the broader GT4+ program and are not presented as results from the F82 M4 Shop Car V2 specifically. Instead, they reflect the competition experience behind the GT4+ system and the real-world environments in which its aerodynamic development has been validated.

From Track Feedback to Product Development

The Shop Car V2 is not simply a customer car wearing the GT4+ Aero Kit. It is one of the platforms used to develop and refine the system.

Track testing allows Ridgeline Motorsport to evaluate details such as splitter clearance, canard positioning, rear wing load paths, suspension behavior, and overall aerodynamic balance on a complete F82 M4.

When something does not perform as expected, it becomes part of the next development cycle.

The product is not finished when the CAD model is finished. It continues to evolve when drivers put it on a real track and provide feedback.
