A Different Approach to the F87 M2 Clubsport Build
Some customer builds are defined by how aggressively they are modified. Others stand out because every modification feels like it belongs.
Richmond's Hockenheim Silver Metallic BMW F87 M2 Competition falls into the second category.
Rather than pushing every component toward a track-only specification, this build takes a balanced approach to Clubsport performance, adding meaningful performance hardware while preserving the usability and character of the original M2.
The goal was not to make the car as extreme as possible, but to develop a more capable and focused F87 that still feels natural on the road. Aerodynamics, braking, wheels, and the driver's environment were selected with that balance in mind, allowing the car to move comfortably between everyday driving and track use.
That approach gives the build its character: motorsport-inspired where it adds value, restrained where it doesn't, and cohesive throughout.
Ridgeline Motorsport Clubsport Aero Package
At the center of the build is the Ridgeline Motorsport Clubsport Package, developed around the proportions and design language of the F87 M2 Competition.
At the front is our GTS Chassis-Mounted Splitter Kit, a multi-piece carbon fiber system finished in full 2x2 weave.
The splitter is secured to the chassis through two stainless steel mounting brackets rather than relying solely on the factory bumper. Installation therefore involves removing the front bumper and modifying the factory skid plate for bracket clearance.
It is a more involved installation than a conventional bolt-on lip, but the result is a mounting structure designed around sustained aerodynamic loading rather than appearance alone.

At the rear, Richmond's M2 uses our Ring Spec Wing V2 with the GT4 Spec Mount, positioning the wing 21 cm above the rear deck.
The GT4 Spec Mount is one of the standard mounting configurations for the Ring Spec Wing V2. On Richmond's F87 M2 Competition, it positions the wing 21 cm above the rear deck, raising the wing above the bodywork while retaining the standard mounting architecture.
For this build, the GT4 Spec Mount fits the overall direction of the car: functional, motorsport-inspired, and visually integrated without making the rear of the M2 feel overly aggressive.
Together, the front splitter and rear wing establish the foundation of the car's F87 M2 Competition aero setup, giving the build a purposeful track-oriented character while remaining cohesive with the original BMW design. The same approach carries across our F87 M2/M2C aerodynamic lineup, developed around the platform's distinctive proportions and performance-focused character.
Hockenheim Silver and Silver BBS E88
One of the defining features of Richmond's M2 is the relationship between the exterior color and wheel selection.
The car's Hockenheim Silver Metallic finish is paired with silver BBS E88 motorsport wheels, creating a restrained combination that emphasizes the F87's shape rather than competing with it.
The E88's classic multi-piece motorsport design also fits naturally with the car's Clubsport direction.
Instead of using the wheels as a high-contrast styling statement, the build allows the wheel design and body color to work together. The result is a car that looks purposeful without appearing excessively modified.
This is an important part of the build's identity.
The motorsport influence is obvious, but it still feels like an M2.
Brembo Pista: Braking for Road and Track
The build's performance hardware continues with the Brembo Pista brake system.
For a car intended to see both spirited road driving and track sessions, braking performance involves more than initial stopping power. Consistency and thermal management become increasingly important as driving intensity and repeated use increase.
The Brembo Pista system gives the build a braking setup that matches its broader performance direction without changing the fundamental usability of the car.
Together with the chassis-mounted aero and BBS E88 wheels, the braking system supports the same objective: adding genuine performance hardware while keeping the overall build cohesive.
A Driver-Focused Interior Without Going Full Race Car
Inside, Richmond's M2 takes a focused approach to the Clubsport theme, combining motorsport-inspired components with the usability of the original F87 platform.
A pair of Recaro Podium seats provides additional driver support for spirited and track driving, while the roll cage adds a more purposeful motorsport element to the cabin.
The JQ Werks Hub System introduces a motorsport-style quick-release steering setup and becomes one of the clearest departures from the factory interior.
Despite these additions, the cabin is not designed as a stripped-out race-car interior. The combination of the roll cage, seats, and steering system creates a more focused driver environment without changing the overall character of the F87.
The result is a purposeful cockpit that feels ready for track use while remaining consistent with the car's broader Clubsport direction.
